Co-ownership entails each party contributing to the purchase price and monthly mortgage payments for the home they share together. This allows you to get onto the property ladder without having to save for a large deposit, and can be an affordable way to invest in a new home and build equity.
The benefits of co-ownership include shared maintenance costs, social interactions with other homeowners and the ability to rent your part of the home to others when you are not using it. However, like any investment decision, co-ownership is not without its challenges. These can include disagreements over usage and repairs, personal disputes and the need for clear communication and agreements to avoid conflict. However, with a bespoke booking system curated by August and the right legal guidance, these issues can be managed with ease.
With housing prices continuing to rise, it is becoming increasingly difficult for people to get on the property ladder.
